Added Responsibilities

Today was a good day. We started off the morning strong with another good run outside. I’m so happy Elder Kim is willing to wake up and go out running with me every morning. So far this transfer we haven’t missed a day. I feel healthier already - love it. This morning I had to go up to the mission home for some district leader training. It wasn’t too long and it went well. President Watrous basically told us how we are now the examples and models to all other missionaries. He talked about how everything we do has to be exemplary. One cool thing that he said was how everyone in the church is a "teacher." He went on to say you could replace everyone's calling with "teacher." For example, the stake president is the "stake teacher," a bishop is the "ward teacher," a elders quorum president is the "elders quorum teacher," etc. So basically the point he was trying to get across is that in the church we are all teachers. He told us that is how we need to accept this new district leader calling. As a district leader I have to become a teacher. I need to be "curious" with the missionaries and their actions, teach in a firm way, and be willing to correct. After the training it was off to teacher my first DTM. Today the topic I taught was the "missionary purpose." I believe it went well. It was definitely different being in the shoes of district leader. During DTM, I usually just sit and tend to zone out every now and then, but when you’re the one teaching it, you have to stay focused and on top of your game. It was fun. I enjoy being DL already. I really feel like this new calling has brought more fire into my work. I’m beginning to feel like I’m actually "forgetting myself."
