First "REAL" lesson in Chinese a success!

This week has been an amazing week. So many great things went down. First, my teaching appointment a couple days ago was sooooooo amazing. It was the first time I taught in all Chinese and I killed it (when I say I killed it, that’s a good thing). It was honestly the best lesson I have ever taught. So amazing! The person I taught was a real investigator from China. She was a native speaking investigator. ahhh I was so nervous and scared at first because not only was it my first time teaching in all Chinese and no English at all, but the person I was teaching was actually interested in the church and seeking the truth. Words and impressions were just flowing into my mind and I was somehow speaking Chinese well enough for her to understand and to act upon my words. I got her to pray for the first time and she accepted the commitment to read 3 Nephi 11 to learn more about Christ and his doctrine. I hope to hear from her soon to see how her reading and praying went. The spirit was so strong during the lesson. You could tell she felt it for sure. I can’t even describe in words how it felt bearing my testimony to her fluently in Chinese. It was just amazing, and I seriously can’t wait for more experiences like that one when I finally get to Taiwan. I love teaching and I love feeling the spirit as I’m teaching. There’s nothing like it. It feels awesome to know that something you said actually touched someone else’s heart.

Yep seeing Tyler at the temple definitely was awesome (ha,ha) and yes we did plan "bumping" into each other there. Such a sweet experience. I think I'll be sending you some pictures next week now that I can upload them with this new email run by gmail. its cool because now I can send and receive attachments. I'll try to send some pics sometime soon. I love the blog excerpts you send from Justin’s blog. so funny. I heard Jared is now writing a book? I didn’t know my bros loved to write so much. Pretty cool.

So dad, I just got both of your letters. Wow that storm sounds crazy! I can’t believe how bad it was and how close the tree came to hitting the house. I hope everything is okay. I’m doing great out here though. If you could see me and how hard I’m studying, without a doubt I know you’d be so proud. I have never worked so hard in my life before. I literally study every minute I can and don’t let myself get lazy. I can honestly say I’m seizing each and every day. Wow, I can’t believe there was another earthquake and it was in Taiwan. That’s a little scary. Hopefully all these natural disasters slow down before I get out on that little Asian island. I’m working out every night, doing like pushups and situps, and then during the day I play basketball for an hour which is nice. I love basketball here - so competitive and fast. I gained some weight the first few weeks and now I’m finally beginning to lose it. I’ve been sticking to a more strict diet and working out more. Hopefully it works and I see more results.

Well I’m out of time now. Thanks for everything. I love and miss both of you soooooooooo much. I’ll be praying for you and hope everything is okay after that big storm.

Love, Jeremy
