The mission is like a roller coaster...
Today is the one year mark since I left the MTC. It is exactly one year ago to this day when I landed in Taipei, Taiwan to begin my work in the field. I never expected I would be in Orange County celebrating this day. It's been a wild ride for sure. Since entering the field one year ago, I have experienced some of the highest of highs along with the lowest of lows. The mission is much like a rollercoaster with all of its ups and downs. But man when you get on the up and up, there is absolutely no greater feeling! I have had some amazing experiences that I'll never forget. Anyways, today was decent. Elder chang and I spent most of the day doing some "family finding." Elder chang and I have been on the lookout for families more than ever. We did much tracting and were able to find a couple willing people but not that golden family we were expecting. We spent our afternoon helping sister King with various types of yard work. We cut some trees, tended to some flowers, and pulled some weeds. Sister King is slowly dying from Lou Gerig's disease but she will never forget to care for her garden. Her garden is something that brings her so much joy and so it has been a humbling experience to help her have that joy by taking care of it for her. Elder Chang and I ended the night with some UCI (University of California Irvine) contacting and then a nice bowl of yogurt at Yogurt Land. Always a good way to finish off a day of work.
