"working hard & seeing the fruits of our labors"

Not too much went down this week. I take that back, we actually have 2 people set up to be baptized this Saturday! so cool. One of them is this amazingly prepared guy I personally contacted outside the church about 4 weeks ago. I know the Lord’s hand was involved. First of all this guy is 23 years old and here for college. His college doesn’t start until next month so he was here way early for 4 weeks ago just wandering around this new place he has never been to before. My companion and I were waiting outside at the time because one of our lessons was late (we usually aren’t outside, usually we are preparing the room we are going to teach in). So because our set up lesson was late we went outside of the church building for a little bit to wait for him by the door, shortly after I see this young man kind of wandering aimlessly so I went up to talk to him. I didn’t think much would come from it, but since my companion was on the phone and I was doing nothing I decided to talk to this guy. I asked him if he believed in God and he replied with a "not really" type of answer. I bore a short little testimony of God and Jesus Christ and right after he said he wanted to meet with me the next day. Well since his school wasn’t starting for 6 weeks he was living here in this area without knowing anybody or anyplace so it was pretty easy for him to find time to meet with us. We probably met with him 4 times a week for the past 5 weeks and he has come to church every Sunday since the first day I have met him. He pretty much does anything I ask him to do, whether its reading the BOM, praying, repenting, or waking up at 5:30 AM to help a member cut down some trees for 5 hours (did that last Saturday with him by the way). He’s so cool and a great example of a prepared soul. Yesterday was his first time wearing a white buttoned down shirt to church and he looked great. I’m giving him one of my ties this week and then on Saturday is his big day. I’m so excited to say the least. The other person getting baptized is this 28 year old girl. My companion has been teaching her ever since he arrived here in Taibao 5 months ago and now she has finally committed to be baptized. She has been coming to church every Sunday, reading the scriptures, praying, following all the commandments, and coming to every ward activity for the past 6 months but just now finally decided to be baptized after we shared a very real lesson with her. We shared with her some verses from 3 Nephi 11 about Christ's doctrine. I can’t wait to see these two people get in the water next week. I worked hard this move call (transfer) and now I’m seeing the fruits of our labors.
