President Uchtorf came with Elder Perkins (Asia Area Seventy) to our mission. Elder Perkins, President and Sister Uchtdorf each gave a talk. They were some pretty awesome talks. Elder Perkins just talked about how important it is to further our chinese knowledge because we dont know what the Lord has planned and where our "next mission" will be. he talked about his life, serving a mission in Taiwan and his path to becoming a mission president in Taiwan and now Asia Area Seventy. He said we all need to study chinese for our whole lives because we dont know where it may take us, gotta be ready for our next "call." President and Sister Uchtdorf both talked about homesickness and combating feelings of discouragement. President Uchtdorf is an absolutely amazing speaker. Such an inspiring talk. He spoke about how divine our callings are. He spoke about how mission calls are made and how each of us is here for a specific reason that we may not know now. He said the mission is one big treasure hunt, the Lord has planted little treasures all over Taiwan for each specifically for each missionary, and its just up to us to find our own treasure that we will have for the rest of our life. He really broke up D&C 90:11 and how that prophesy relates to us. we are fulfilling those words in D&C. He talked about how all of our personal challenges will be made easier as we remain dedicated and how challenges at home will be led to "satisfactory solutions." He talked about how much our families are blessed back home for our service. He said we may not understand or know how but our families will be blessed exceedingly for our service. It was an overall great talk. I loved it so much. It really hit me hard. One cool thing Sister Uchtdorf talked about was how we all have a 24-hour prayer service for us missionaries. She said at every hour of the day there is a prayer being said specifically for all the missionaries somewhere in a temple around the world. It was pretty cool to realize that.
Well this is the last week of the move call. I should definitely be moving next monday. I really hope and pray I get a cool companion and area. I really wanna go to a big city. We'll see though. These next couple of move calls should be exciting. There are some big changes going down due to the new mission president and rules established by the first presidency. I think move calls are changing to 4 weeks instead of 6. That would be crazy/way different. We'll see though. Well I miss and love you so much. Thanks for everything. I'm so excited for package number 3. Thanks for the update. Can't wait to hear from you again next week. Hope you have an awesome week and enjoy being home again. Let me know when my package comes.
