We just got back from the Taipei temple and it was amazing! For about 3 hours I forgot I was even in Asia. As soon as I stepped foot in that temple I felt at home again. I felt as if I was out of a foreign land and back in a familiar place. It was probably the longest time I went without hearing or speaking Chinese, too. It was awesome! All of the temple workers and presidency were American, the ones who weren’t spoke English, so it just felt great to feel back at home. It was so weird because as soon as I stepped out of the temple I was like oh yeah I’m in Taiwan. I totally forgot where I was and everything. It was a nice little break/rest from everything. I wish I could go to the temple every week. I love it. Taipei was so awesome, such a cool city. I saw Taipei 101 from a distance and it was massive!
Well this week isn’t looking as good as we expected but it’s still way good. We were expecting 5 baptisms this Saturday, but it’s cut down to 2 for this Saturday, 2 more two weeks from now, and then 1-2 more 3 weeks from now. It’s really looking promising as we will reach our goal of 5 baptisms for our first move call (transfer). I mean 2 in the first 3 weeks of being in an area neither of us have been to is basically unheard of. The Lord is truly blessing us with prepared souls. Our lessons have been going very well and all of our investigators desire to be baptized increases everyday. It’s amazing to see how happy and blessed they are as they keep the commitments we gave them.
Well I just thought I’d give you that little update. I don’t have a ton of time, I will have more this Monday though. Oh this Monday we're actually going to this awesome city, its called Lu Gong. It’s one of the oldest cities in Taiwan and all the missionaries say it’s amazing, they say you don’t go to Taiwan without going to Lu Gong (I’m lucky to go in my first transfer). Everyone also says if you wanna buy cool things or get good pics go to Lu Gong, so hopefully this Monday I'll have some great snap shots to send you. Well I gotta run. Keep praying for me and tell the family hi and I love and miss them. It was awesome hearing all of your voices last Sunday, miss them already. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY AGAIN!!! You’re the most amazing mother ever, and that's the truth.
Love, Jeremy
